Central Pacific Bank Breaks Ground for New Kaneohe Branch

January 22, 2009

Central Pacific Bank, subsidiary of Central Pacific Financial Corp. (NYSE: CPF), presented a groundbreaking ceremony for a new branch in Kaneohe today at 46-077 Kamehameha Hwy. The new branch will be built on the site of the former Times Coffee Shop in the Kaneohe Bay Shopping Center, across from Windward Mall.

“We are committed to providing the highest quality, most efficient service to Kaneohe and Windward residents,” said Blenn A. Fujimoto, Vice Chairman - Hawaii Market. “This new, convenient location is a key part of that effort to continue delivering exceptional service and great banking values to the community.”

Currently, two Central Pacific Bank branches are located in Kaneohe: 45-1054 Kamehameha Hwy. and 45-1151 Kamehameha Hwy. Both branches will be consolidated into the better location and the staff will relocate to the new branch.

“The new space is much larger and has lots more parking,” said Fujimoto. “We’re confident our customers will appreciate the upgrade, and our branch employees are looking forward to the visibility and the comfort that comes with a larger location.”

The new 3,708-square-foot facility will provide retail, commercial, mortgage, and wealth management services and is expected to open at the end of 2009. The new branch will also introduce the community to the client-friendly feature, PassVault, a biometric system that allows clients safe and secure access to safety deposit boxes without the need for bank personnel to be present.

“Aside from getting used to the route to the new location, the transition will be seamless for Central Pacific Bank’s Windward customers,” Fujimoto said. “Service will be uninterrupted.”
