Kapuakea Products offers unique baked products blending island flavors with old world European style and tradition.

Their mouth-watering Hawaiian specialty breads include Ginger-Pumpkin Bread, Banana-Poi Loaf and Double Chocolate Macadamia Nut Loaf.

Those with a sweet tooth can indulge in Lilikoi Lemon Bars, Coconut Shortbread Cookies, Kona Coffee Fudge Brownies, Chocolate Raspberry Drizzles and Guava Raspberry Macadamia Nut Squares.

Sharon Toriki and her longtime friend Betty Jane “B.J.” Uegawa often purchased these delicious treats as gifts for their friends and families.  When they learned that the owner was selling the business, Sharon and B.J. contacted Central Pacific Bank Business Banker Naomi Masuno.  In December 2003, with Naomi’s help, the two friends purchased Kapuakea Products through a Small Business Loan.

"From the first, Naomi has provided us with expert guidance, exceptional customer service, and she has made certain that our business interests were her interests,” says Sharon.  “With my business partner living on Kauai and both of us having full-time jobs, Naomi has truly been a godsend for us.”

Sharon says in one instance, Naomi visited the bakery on her own personal time to collect signatures for important documents.  Naomi then jumped right in and helped finish orders for the bakery!  On another occasion, Naomi helped Sharon navigate through the many processes involved with having a website.

“I have been in the restaurant business for nearly 30 years and I understand how important and crucial customer service is,” says Sharon.  “It plays a pivotal role in determining the success of an establishment.  Without Naomi’s expertise and guidance, we would never have been able to be so successful.  Truly, she demonstrates the very essence of Central Pacific Bank’s customer service ideal.”
