Central Pacific Bank (CPB) has appointed Rene Chinen to Senior Vice President, Director of Compliance. Chinen has 19 years of compliance experience with emphasis on lending and deposit regulations, privacy, fair lending, bank operations, and vendor management.
In her new position, Chinen is responsible for managing the Bank’s entire compliance management program, which includes compliance training of all bank employees and monitoring of all Bank areas for compliance with consumer and other related laws and regulations. She is also responsible for managing the compliance team, overseeing and ensuring adequate compliance staffing and resources to support the Bank’s compliance needs.
Chinen was most recently with First Hawaiian Bank and served as Deputy General Counsel, Senior Vice President & Assistant Secretary.
Chinen is also a board member and twice-past president of Hawaii Financial Regulatory Compliance Association. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree from University of Puget Sound and a Juris Doctorate from University of Washington School of Law.
