Celebrating 60 years of working for you

This year marks the 60th Anniversary of Central Pacific Bank. What started as a dream of a handful of World War II nisei veterans has grown into a $4.7 billion, full-service financial institution with 36 branch offices across the state of Hawaii. To these founding fathers, who in 1954 brought hope and opportunity to those struggling in the community, we owe a great debt of gratitude. We will honor their legacy throughout the year with events and activities that celebrate six decades of serving our community. We invite you to check back often for news and updates.

Memorializing the Legacy

More important than 'how' the bank was founded, is the story of 'why' the bank was founded. To help share that story, the Central Pacific Bank Legacy Wall was unveiled on February 18, 2014 fronting the entrance to Central Pacific Plaza in downtown Honolulu. The wall will stand proudly as a permanent tribute to our humble beginnings and our founders' legacy.

50¢ Plate Lunch Sale

In the early 1950's, a group of nisei WWII veterans had a dream of creating a bank to serve all of Hawaii's people. Meeting regularly at Ala Moana Beach Park with a quintessential symbol of local grassroots culture—the 50 -cent plate lunch—Central Pacific Bank was conceived.

As a special 'thank you' to our customers and in tribute to our founders, we hosted a 50-Cent Plate Lunch Sale on February 15, 2014 at select Central Pacific Bank branches. Hundreds turned out to take advantage of the great deal and to share in the spirit.

Proceeds will be donated to the food banks on Oahu, Maui, Kauai and the Big Island.
